Customized Ingredients
We work with doctors to develop treatments that are customized to each individual patient’s needs. Discontinued and Unavailable Medications
There are some medications that have been discontinued and are no longer available commercially. When a medication is discontinued it can often be obtained from a compounding pharmacy. There are other situations where a drug can be made at a different dose than is commercially available. For example, naltrexone is available commercially in a dose of 50mg to treat opioid and alcohol addiction. At much lower doses it is used to treat a variety of conditions including Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and autism. At the lower doses uses to treat these conditions (between 0.5-4.5mg) it is called “low-dose naltrexone” and can only be obtained from a compounding pharmacy.
Compound Formulations
Combinations of effective ingredients can be combined into one formulation. A pain rub used to treat arthritis can include pain relief medication, topical anesthetic, and counterirritants together in one.
