Diazepam 2mg, 5mg, or 10mg Suppositories

Diazepam, sold under the brand name Valium, is a well-known and frequently prescribed medication. It can treat a variety of disorders affecting the central nervous system including anxiety, epilepsy, and muscle spasms. It is sometimes prescribed off-label for the treatment of pelvic pain in women.

Diazepam Suppositories for Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain is pain that occurs anywhere below the belly button and between the hips. This pain is considered chronic if it lasts more than 6 months. There are many potential causes of pelvic pain, which makes it difficult to diagnose.

One potential treatment is the use of diazepam inserted intravaginally. Diazepam suppositories may be used to treat pelvic pain as-needed. They sometimes are prescribed to be used prior to sexual intercourse to reduce pelvic pain associated with sex. If a patient is going through other treatments for pelvic pain, diazepam suppositories may help the patient get through treatment and help improve sleep. Stretching, yoga, and other kinds of exercise have all been recommended as therapies for managing pelvic pain.

The most common adverse effects from using diazepam come from combining it with alcohol and other drugs. Overall this medication has a good side effect profile when used as prescribed. Our pharmacy makes diazepam suppositories specifically for vaginal use in any dosage required. You can also view our other products specifically formulated for Women’s Health.
